Regulation Authority:

Chapters 42-17.1, 42-17.6, and 20-4 through 20-10, and sections 20-1-2, 20-1-4, and 20-3-2 through 20-3-6, in accordance with 42-35-18(b)(5), and 42-35 of the RIGL's of 1956, as amended.

Purpose and Reason:

These amendments to the RI Marine Fisheries Statutes and Regulations - Part VII - Minimum Sizes of Fish/Shellfish will increase the commercial possession limit of scup to 300 lbs. for all gear types other than floating fish traps; and to reduce the commercial possession limit of black sea bass to 50 lbs. effective 2:00 PM on 10/16/03.
